Most people buy their first parrot while it is still young. But first comes the question, "what should I be looking for in a parrot?" well the answer this question is usually in the parrot breeder! First look for a quality breeder (or store that obtains birds from good breeders) that handels his birds with love and care. Remember that How a bird views us is very dependent on their first experiences and memories. Next comes "how do I train my bird?" food can be a way to a parrots heart, regular hand feeding builds trust bonds between you and the bird (but only the owner should hand feed the parrot). During the parrot's training period remember that neglecting your parrot can be dangerous. Just a tip on what not to do. Never make the parrot feel like he is threatened, a parrot will become suspicious of you if he feels that he is threatoned. A parrot should be raised in a clean environment, but not an isolated one, a parrot is a social bird and enjoys activity and toys. This is just a few tips and hints for training your parrot, there is much more invloved that I will endeavor to illustrate in future posts.
Sincerely,
